A flavour of the future

The travel retail channel continues to evolve, with travellers looking for more than just a simple sweet treat to take home. By harnessing diverse elements such as gifting, convenience, self-consumption, snacking, storytelling and a sense of place, confectionery brands have a golden opportunity to make the shopping experience an increasingly meaningful and memorable part of the journey.

At this year’s TFWA World Exhibition, Ferrero Travel Market showcased how we are responding to these changing traveller expectations by introducing multi-layered innovations across our entire portfolio. Here we take a closer look at some of the key developments presented last month in Cannes.

A new look for La Biscotteria

At Ferrero we continue to build the pioneering La Biscotteria concept, with a new visual identity now being implemented across the range.

This refreshed design architecture creates a more consistent and recognisable brand image across all La Biscotteria products, helping to strengthen shelf presence while making it easier for travellers to identify and navigate the portfolio.

Our objective is to deliver a clearer and more intuitive shopping experience. Importantly, this new unified look strengthens La Biscotteria’s presence on shelf, and creates greater cohesion across our biscuit range.

Ferrero's La Biscotteria concept has been refreshed with a strong new visual identity

We see significant potential for biscuits in travel retail, with the category able to address a broad range of need states – from snacking and self-consumption to gifting – across all price points.

As we continue to diversify and expand our biscuit offering in the channel, we believe this new visual identity provides a strong and distinctive platform for our portfolio to build further momentum.

Look out for the new La Biscotteria packs in travel retail stores from Q4 2026.

Elevating the praline category

Another key highlight unveiled in Cannes was the Ferrero Collection Experience (launching Q2 2027), which brings a new premium proposition to the praline category through four artisanal-inspired chocolate creations within a single assortment.

The upscale presentation features four signature flavours – Cappuccino, Cocoa, Hazelnut and Salted Caramel – offering variety and discovery within a multi-sensorial taste experience. Presented in a sophisticated boxed format, the Ferrero Collection Experience is designed for gifting, sharing and special occasions, tapping into the continued appeal of premium confectionery in the travel retail channel.

Launching in Q2 2027, the new Ferrero Collection Experience aims to elevate the praline category

This launch reflects our belief in the opportunities that arise where innovation, premiumisation and experiential retail come together. Travellers continue to seek products that feel special and offer something beyond the everyday – whether through new formats, travel retail-exclusives, limited editions or seasonal gifting collections.

Propositions like the Ferrero Collection Experience create a strong sense of occasion, while giving shoppers the reassurance of a recognised brand and trusted quality.

Taking Tic Tac TWO to the next level

The diversity of today’s traveller base means we need to continually evolve our portfolio to meet changing expectations and unlock new opportunities for growth. At the Cannes show we revealed a new flavour combination for Tic Tac TWO, in response to the growing interest in sugar-free confectionery, particularly among younger travellers.

Tic Tac Two

The new Cola Fizz & Lemon flavour joins the Tic Tac TWO range from Q3 2027

Joining the original Strawberry & Lime and Spearmint flavours from Q3 2027, Cola Fizz & Lemon combines two vibrant and contrasting taste experiences in one product. Twice the size of the original Tic Tac pill, and made without artificial colours, Tic Tac TWO features two distinctive layers, creating a playful and refreshing experience crafted to appeal to a new generation of travellers in search of guilt-free treats, with no compromise on taste.

Bringing Kinder’s “Journey of Joy” to life

Finally, the Cannes show saw the debut of a new visual identity for our Kinder brand, which builds on our broader focus of creating connected experiences that extend beyond the product itself.

Designed to bring Kinder’s “Journey of Joy” to life across global travel retail, the new concept is constructed around playfulness, a strong sense of place and contemporary design, to transform the shopping environment into an engaging extension of the travel journey.

Interactive and gamified elements create opportunities for connection, communication and participation for a cross-generational audience, supporting exploration, gifting and shared moments of joy.

Kinder's "Journey of Joy" concept is rolling out in travel retail from Q4 2026.

Next stop: MEADFA 2026

Following on from Cannes, Ferrero Travel Market’s focus now turns to the MEADFA Conference 2026, taking place in Rabat, Morocco, from 15–17 November.

Marking MEADFA’s 25th anniversary, and taking place in Morocco for the first time, this year’s event will explore the key issues shaping the future of travel retail across Africa and the Middle East – an important and dynamic region for Ferrero Travel Market.

As the industry looks towards its next phase of growth, we look forward to meeting with our retail partners to further our understanding of evolving traveller needs – and continue delivering innovation that adds value for everyone.

From the French Riviera to Rabat, the journey continues.
